Vibrant Festivities for World Children's Day 2025 Across Three Venues
On 20th September 2025, Bergisch Gladbach will come alive with a series of family festivals to celebrate World Children's Day. The celebrations will take place at three locations: Heidkamp, Hermann-Löns Quarter in Gronau, and Wohnpark Bensberg.
At Heidkamp, visitors can visit PAULA (Paulusstraße 5a), an intercultural meeting point operated by the creative school Bergisch Gladbach e.V. since 2021. Here, families can enjoy live music, refreshments, and participate in play and creativity activities.
In Wohnpark Bensberg, the festivities will be spread across multiple venues. LOKI, a hub for local life, openness, creativity, and integration, will host performances by Krea Youth Club and "Human Dance Teens". Younger visitors can enjoy balloon modeling, face painting, and cooperative play stations. Food and drinks will be provided throughout the day.
The Hermann-Löns Quarter and Gronau will host the World Children's Day celebrations at the Hermann-Löns Forum, a community center that has been a hub for people from the districts of Gronau and Hand since 2021. The events will feature fun, games, and activities all about children's rights.
LOKI in Wohnpark Bensberg, operated by the creative school Bergisch Gladbach e.V. since 2024, also offers a wide range of support services for all people in and around the Wohnpark. The KiWo, operated by GL-Service gGmbH since 2012, will also host the World Children's Day festival.
The locations of LOKI, the family center ZAK, and the KiWo are spatially and content-wise closely connected in Wohnpark Bensbach, ensuring a seamless experience for visitors.
Local associations and free carriers from Bergisch Gladbach are organising and coordinating all the family festivals. Alongside the creative school Bergisch Gladbach e.V. and GL-Service gGmbH, local associations and organisations involved in planning and organising the Kindertags-Festival in Wohnpark Bensberg include the Förderverein Wohnpark Bensberg and the Bürgerverein Bensberg.
The festivals will run from 2 PM to 5 PM, providing a fun-filled afternoon for all. No admission fee is required, making it an accessible event for everyone.
