Upcoming pulse from the emerald organ
Neuss, Germany - The transformation of Neuss into a verdant oasis for the 2026 state garden show has begun in earnest, with significant progress made at the former racecourse site.
Annette Nothnagel, managing director of the LAGA GmbH, reflected on the year gone by, noting, "Since the commencement of construction, theoretical plans have started to take tangible form."
The journey kick-started with a groundbreaking ceremony in February 2024, attended by Hendrik Wüst, the North Rhine-Westphalia Minister President, and Reiner Breuer, the city's mayor. The duo planted the first of 2,200 trees destined for Bürgerpark Neuss, the main venue for the garden show. The chosen tree, a red oak, is highly adaptable to climate change and can live up to 400 years.
Over the winter, an additional 1,000 trees will be planted, while the skate park and a dirt track for BMX and mountain bike enthusiasts are set to expand in the spring. Alongside these developments, the team behind the state garden show GmbH will grow and expand.
The state garden show is scheduled to take place in Neuss from April 16 to October 11, 2026. Since December, 2,000 discounted season tickets have been sold. Interested participants can purchase season tickets, priced at €80 for adults, €60 for seniors, and €5 for children, at the Neuss Tourist Information or online.
