Upcoming Oktoberfest 2025 in Munich: A Peek at the Wiesn Few Days Prior to the Kickoff
The much-anticipated Oktoberfest is just a few days away, and this year, visitors can look forward to a vibrant atmosphere filled with local Bavarian traditions and modern attractions.
One such tradition making a comeback is the Bavarian cult drink, "Isarwasser". Known for its sweet, lemonade-like taste and color, "Isarwasser" is set to quench the thirst of Oktoberfest-goers between liters of beer and music. The drink's revival is courtesy of the new Weißbiergarten, "Isarschenke", which has opened on the festival grounds, Theresienwiese.
The "Isarschenke" aims to connect visitors with the Isar River's cultural and natural heritage by bringing back the popular refreshment choice from the 70s. The "Happy Sailor", another new addition to the Oktoberfest, is expected to add to the excitement. This thrilling ride features high-speed and rotating gondolas that whirl visitors around, all while being enveloped in blue glowing lights.
The "Happy Sailor" ride is known to increase tension with every round, adding an adrenaline-pumping element to the festivities. The festival grounds are already displaying a mix of tradition and excitement, with the "Isarschenke" and the "Happy Sailor" joining the established attractions.
With the Oktoberfest set to begin, guests can anticipate a memorable experience filled with local traditions, modern attractions, and the delicious taste of "Isarwasser". So, get ready to don your lederhosen and dirndls, and join in the Bavarian celebration!
