Unterbrunn's parish, under the leadership of Angelika Göschl, marks a milestone of ten years.

Titled A Decade of Fostering Community Spirit at Unterbrunn Parish House

The Parish Dame:

For ten years, Angelika Goeschl, affectionately known as the "Underbrunner Pflanzerl", has been a cornerstone of Unterbrunn's parish house. This jubilee will be celebrated from Friday through Pentecost Sunday, with a grand celebration fit for a queen.

Unterbrunn's Vibrant Heart:

Angelika, now 59, has poured her heart and soul into nurturing the parish house since 2012. This idyllic haven, complete with a wedding chamber and Laurentius-Stadl, has become a cherished landmark for both locals and visitors. Its appeal lies in its unique charm, warm atmosphere, and the sense of history that permeates the space.

The parish house, built in 1914, underwent a beautiful transformation under Angelika's care. As a seasoned bank clerk and personnel developer, Angelika played a pivotal role in restoring this historical gem. Her passion for preserving the original charm can be seen in the meticulously restored paneled wedding chamber. The first couple to tie the knot after the restoration were Jürgen and Petra Preischl in 2015. Since then, around 660 civil marriages are estimated to have taken place there.

Apart from hosting numerous weddings, the parish house also acts as a conference and seminar center. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Angelika showed her resilience, adapting to the challenges with creative solutions. Tents and large wooden sheds were brought in for outdoor events when the restrictions made it impossible to gather indoors.

Cultural Hub:

The parish house serves as a cultural hub for the community, providing space for various associations, events, and musical performances. The "Culture in Unterbrunn" association, the fruit and garden association, the men's singing association, and "Zwickte" homemade kirtanudeln all call the parish house home.

The idyllic setting has also been a filming location for several movies, including "Wer's glaubt, wird selig" and "Rosenheim Cops".

Community Embracer:

Community support and togetherness are at the heart of Unterbrunner's spirit. Angelika plays a vital role in not only organizing events but also in welcoming everyone into the parish community. This year, 39 pizzas were made in the Backhäusl for the Unterbrunner lads who guarded the Maypole. Golden anniversaries, like that of former mayor Dr. Ekkehard Knobloch and his wife Gabriele, are also celebrated with much fanfare at the parish hall.

As the parish house prepares to celebrate a decade of growth and resilience, we look forward to seeing what the coming years hold for this cherished landmark.
