Unique German Bike Workshop Empowers Mental Health Clients

The 'Reborad' bike workshop, unique in the German Reich, offers more than just repairs. It provides structure, social participation, and even a bookstore for its clients, many of whom struggle with mental illnesses.

At the heart of 'Reborad' is Achim Wolfrum, a former IT specialist who now finds purpose in bike repair. Despite his experience, Wolfrum prefers part-time work due to his schizophrenia. He feels well-supported at the workshop, where he is one of 30 employees, many of whom face severe mental health challenges.

The workshop, led by an unidentified master, offers a vocational school for apprentices like Sascha Langer. At 37, Langer excels in his class and plans to attend master school upon completion. The workshop's bookstore doubles as a learning space, teaching clients order processing and shipping.

'Reborad' sells both repaired bikes and new ones, aiming to enhance clients' mobility and social participation.

The 'Reborad' bike workshop stands out as a beacon of support for those facing mental health challenges. Through part-time work, vocational training, and mobility solutions, it empowers its clients to participate in society. Despite the lack of public information about its master, the workshop's impact on its employees' lives is undeniable.
