Students to Explore Sustainable Automotive Production at Sept. Summer School
Students from diverse backgrounds will gather at the Joint Campus Wolfsburg this September to explore sustainable automotive production. The first 'Automotive Circular Economy' Summer School, running from September 8 to 12, aims to design vehicle components for easier repair, recycling, and efficient disassembly. This initiative aligns with the automotive industry's shift towards more sustainable practices.
Organized by the Technical University of Brunswick, the Open Hybrid LabFactory, Ostfalia University, and the Fraunhofer CCEM, the Summer School will bring together students from various disciplines. They will develop ideas for sustainable automotive production, considering factors such as suitable recycling materials and economic effects along the value chain.
The Joint Campus Wolfsburg, a strategic goal of the city of Wolfsburg, aspires to become a leading showcase for the automotive circular economy regionally and internationally. It aims to strengthen the region as a research and training location. The Summer School is supported by Volkswagen and the city of Wolfsburg, ensuring practical relevance and industrial insights.
The 'Automotive Circular Economy' Summer School serves as an example of the Technical University of Brunswick's Ecoversity strategy, fostering interdisciplinary work for sustainable solutions. By exploring sustainable automotive production, students will contribute to the transformation of the automotive industry towards more environmentally friendly practices.
