Struggling Zoo in Yakutsk Seeks Assistance Once More

The mini-zoo Zooland in Yakutsk, Russia, is once again calling for help from the public, as they face a critical shortage of essential supplies. The zoo, located near the Construction Market, has been struggling since the closure of children's entertainment centres due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to dry food, Zooland is in urgent need of fruits, vegetables, and dry dog food for their monkeys, raccoons, meerkats, hedgehogs, and other animals. Moreover, the zoo is also seeking vaccines, dewormers, vitamins, and supplements to ensure the health and well-being of its residents.

The zoo's administration expressed gratitude to everyone who helped during the difficult period, with the residents of Yakutsk responding generously, raising funds and food for the zoo for three weeks. However, after three weeks, the funds and food at the zoo have run out, and the zoo is facing another challenging period.

Alexei GROMOV, who is associated with SAKHAPRESS, has been instrumental in spreading the word about Zooland's plight. The zoo's Instagram page, unfortunately, remains banned in the Russian Federation, making it difficult for them to reach a wider audience.

In a bid to make it easier for people to help, groceries can be delivered directly to the Zoo daily from 11 AM to 6 PM. For more details, you can call +7 (923) 180-87-91.

The zoo reported that 300 animals needed to be fed, and almost all funds had been spent. The zoo's landlords, in a show of support, did not charge rent for April.

The zoo's diet includes chicken breast, hearts, livers, zoophobas, crickets, and other sources of protein. However, with the current shortage, these supplies are becoming increasingly scarce.

Zooland is counting on public help and support to overcome this crisis. If you wish to provide financial support, the bank details are: Sberbank card number 4276-7602-3077-0024, recipient: Natalia Yevgenyevna.
