Stranded Father and Daughter, Caught in the Rain, Fearfully Rescued on a Mountain Trail Near Valasco
In an operation that marked the successful completion of a challenging mission, a father and daughter were rescued from a trail above the Valasco plain in the Valdieri territory on Wednesday, August 20.
The hike of the hiker and his daughter was hindered by adverse trail conditions caused by rain. Faced with these difficulties, they made the wise decision to raise the alarm instead of continuing their hike.
The rescue operation was carried out by the Alpine, Speleo, and Fluvial (Saf) firefighters, who employed the use of the Drago helicopter. The rescue teams successfully located the hikers above the Valasco plain and escorted them to the Valasco refuge, where they were rescued in good health.
The operation took place in the afternoon of August 20, near the Valasco plain, and involved the use of the Drago helicopter. The rescue operation near the Gesso High Valley area was followed up the next day, August 21, by the Alpine Rescue Team.
