Senior citizens savored wine tour experiences - Future events targeting the age group 67 and above planned for 2026.
The city of Neuwied is already preparing for its annual 'Events 67+', with the 2026 program currently in progress. Despite the future leader of the 'Events 67+' program at the City Marketing Office yet to be announced, recent wine tours have set a promising tone for upcoming events in Neuwied.
The wine tours, held at the Zwick winery in Hammerstein for four afternoons, were a resounding success. A total of 90 senior citizens attended the sold-out event, enjoying hearty onion cake and fine wines. The atmosphere was joyful and lively, both in the garden and the hall, with Klaus Hardy ensuring an energetic ambiance during the outings.
Elmar Zwick, the winery owner, presented four exceptional wines and shared insights into regional winemaking during the wine tastings. Special surprises were provided by Thomas Kagelmann, who entertained the guests with his accordion performances.
Notable attendees included Wine Queen Lea and Bacchus Florian from Leutesdorf, Wine Queen Cosima von Rheinbrohl, and her wine princesses Esther and Maike. Susanne Thiele, from the City Marketing Office, oversaw the event series and emphasized the positive feedback and fantastic atmosphere as indicators of the success of the wine tours.
Those interested in receiving personal invitations to future 'Events 67+' in Neuwied can sign a data protection declaration at the Neuwied Tourist Information, Marktstraße 59. Signing up adds individuals to the mailing list for future events.
While the specific details of the 2026 'Events 67+' program have not been disclosed yet, Susanne Thiele hinted that the City Marketing Office has other interesting offers planned for next year, beyond the wine tours. The first event was celebrated in the atmospheric 'wine garden' of the Zwick family, setting a high bar for the events to follow.
Looking ahead, there will be another wine tasting event in the future, although the specific date is yet to be announced. The successful wine tours serve as a testament to the city's commitment to providing enjoyable and engaging events for its residents and visitors alike.
