Exciting Sailing Courses for Children and Young People at Newland Baggersee in 2024

Sailing Course Perks in 2024: Complimentary Seats Offered During Summer Vacations

During the upcoming Hamburg Holiday Pass 2024, children and young people aged 8 to 16 have the opportunity to join sailing courses at Newland Baggersee. These courses are designed to teach sailing basics, safety, and practical skills in a fun, supervised environment.

Who Can Participate?

The sailing courses are suitable for beginners and those with some sailing experience. Participants should be able to swim or be confident in water, as basic swimming ability is often required.

Registration and Fees

Registration for the sailing courses usually opens a few weeks before the summer holidays start. Interested parties must register through the official Hamburg holiday pass program portal or the sailing club organizing the courses at Newland Baggersee.

The participation fee for the sailing courses is approximately €130 per child, but participants from the district may receive a discounted fee of €110. The fee typically covers boat rental, instruction, safety gear, insurance, and lunch for the participants.

Course Duration & Schedule

The sailing courses usually last several days to a week, with sessions of 2-4 hours per day. They are held during Hamburg school holidays, with specific dates varying within the holiday pass program. The courses commence daily at 10 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.

Requirements for Participation

Minimum swimming skills are required for participation, and appropriate clothing is advised, including swimwear, sun protection, and a light windproof jacket. Wearing a life jacket/PFD is mandatory and provided by the course. A parental consent form must be signed at registration, and participants should be physically able to handle the sailboat activities.

Additional Information

For the most accurate details, check the Hamburg Holiday Pass 2024 official materials or contact the sailing club at Newland Baggersee directly. Look for the section on youth sports or sailing courses in the holiday pass brochure or website.

If you're interested in the sailing courses, you can find registration and further information at svgs-hamburg.de/fp. Please note that securing swimming skills, at least the bronze swimming badge, is required for participation. The courses for young beginners will introduce them to sailing in a playful way using Optimist dinghies.

Outside of the holidays, the sailing association offers youth training on Thursdays and Saturdays. Anyone who would like to sail but has other plans during the holidays can simply drop by for training.

In addition to sailing courses, the sailing association at Newland Baggersee also provides an opportunity for individuals with an 'other lifestyle' interested in outdoor-living, offering youth training on Thursdays and Saturdays for those with different plans during school holidays. Forhome-and-garden enthusiasts, it's worth mentioning that Newland Baggersee could make an ideal venue for family outings or picnics, allowing individuals to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and scenery while their children participate in various water activities.
