A U.S.-based cybercrime operation, SWAT USA Drops, has been exposed following a hack. The service, based in Russia, recruits U.S. residents to reship stolen goods. The mastermind behind the scheme, Ivan Sherban, has been identified.

Sherban, who goes by the online aliases Apathyp and Fearlless, is a heavily tattooed, muscular individual living in Saint Petersburg. His Vkontakte profile, linked to the email [email protected], reveals a recently married man with a birthday on August 18.

SWAT USA Drops was purchased by Sherban, then using the alias Apathyp, in January 2021, along with his partner Universalo. The business operates on the Russian cybercrime forum Verified, where Sherban is active under both aliases. He uses the instant messenger address [redacted] for communication.
