Returning Campus Favorites: Holy Cross Dining Restores Classic Meals

The College of the Holy Cross has seen a flurry of changes in its dining scene, with new menu items and popular favourites making a comeback.

In a recent development, the Purple Power Bean Wrap, a health-conscious option featuring shredded purple cabbage and an abundance of beans, has returned to Dags, following its successful stint as part of the college's health and wellness initiative.

Meanwhile, the Baconator 3000, a beloved breakfast sandwich from the '90s, has made a triumphant return to the Cool Beans menu after numerous requests from students. This popular sandwich was a mainstay at Holy Cross in the past, but details about its history or significance remain scarce.

Crossroads, a popular lunch and dinner spot on the Holy Cross campus, has also introduced the crispy buffalo chicken sandwich this semester. The sandwich has been well-received, particularly among the HC athlete community, who found it to be their most ordered item.

Another intriguing development is the revival of the Mighty Melt at Croads Deli. The Mighty Melt, which was introduced after the Purple Power Bean Wrap was deemed less popular, has now found favour with students, making it a regular fixture on the menu.

Outside the dining sphere, the campus community has been abuzz with the news of Caitlyn Wiffer '27's announcement on January 27th, 2024, that Dunkin' is being sued for $5 million.

In a more light-hearted note, Moo Deng, the globally beloved baby hippo, was recently spotted on the Holy Cross campus. Moo Deng's fame skyrocketed due to popular videos at the Thai zoo, and students have been delighted to welcome him to their campus.

Lastly, the term "Dream Study Rotation" has gained traction on social media since its inception in 2021. This term refers to a group of people hypothetically liked for a fun study environment. Mack Hughes '25, the Chief Eggplant Editor, has been instrumental in documenting and promoting this phenomenon.

As the semester progresses, it will be interesting to see how these developments shape the Holy Cross dining scene and campus life as a whole. With new menu items, returning favourites, and exciting events, there's never a dull moment at the College of the Holy Cross.
