Summer comes, and my thoughts wander to the smell of s'mores, dips in the cool pool, ice cream, and that good old summer camp vibe. Hey there, I'm Leslie from Pink Stripey Socks, and I've got a thing for summer camp crafts.
Today, I'm super-excited to share a fabulous summer camp-style DIY project that you and your little ones won't be able to resist! We're whipping up some affectionate sun and lion felt pillows sans a single thread or needle!
Once you've got the hang of it, you can craft virtually any shape or animal your heart desires with these effortless DIY masterpieces. Perfect for quiet days and those inevitable kiddo boredom moments!
Fabric Less Sewing Pillows
Equipment:- Felt (Choose from a variety of hues like yellow for the sun, black and white for the lion)- Scissors- Pins- Glue (Hot glue or Tacky Glue)- Stuffing (Optional – fiberfill or polyester)
Step 1: Draw and cut out two identical circles from the yellow and orange felt. Pin the circles together.
Step 2: Create fringe around each felt circle, ensuring it's at least 2" long.
Step 3: Tie the fringe along 3/4 of the circle, but keep a portion loose for stuffing purposes later on.
Step 4: Add facial features using glue, such as a sun face on one pillow and a lion face on the other.
Step 5: Time to fill those pillows! You could use stuffing, but if you're like me and didn't prepare, simply tear up residual felt pieces to act as your instant stuffing!
Step 6: Finish off by tying the remaining fringe.
