The business partner confirmed the sale to RIA Tomsk on Thursday.
Previous reports indicated a shortage of public restrooms in Tomsk. As of July 2023, there were only 13 publicly accessible restrooms in the city, with some of them out of service. The city government had planned to install an additional five to six restrooms in 2024, with a list of ten potential locations identified. In August, public tender was announced for the acquisition of two modular restrooms to be placed on Naberezhnaya Tomi and on Beloye Ozero.
"Our business has been operational since 2004, and we currently have six facilities located in various districts of the city... Prospekt Novosobornaya and Lagernyi Park have two facilities each... One is located on Ploshchad Južnaya, another is in a square near the TYAZ (Tomsk Regional Youth Theater), and another is situated near the Drama Theater... As we are relocating, we are selling them accordingly," the business partner told the agency, confirming the sale price to be RUB 17 million.

According to the business partner, the local authorities have not shown interest in the sold restrooms and have not approached the owners.
