"October 6th Vegesack Hosts Vegfest: A Day Filled with Music, Activities, Kids' Programming, and Outdoor festivities"
On the 6th of October, Bremen will come alive with the Veggie Festival, a celebration of all things organic and sustainable. This year, the festival is partnering with BioCity Bremen for the first time, promising a fantastic event filled with music, children's activities, interactive experiences, and walking acts.
The day will kick off with an ADFC bike flea market from 11 am to 2 pm, where you can buy and sell bicycles. Registrations are possible at www.touren-termine.adfc.de.
From 11 am to 6 pm, the festival's pedestrian zone will be buzzing with activities. A bio market, complete with farm product sales, a bio snack bar, and information stands, will be set up at Sedanplatz. Visitors can also make beeswax wraps and shopping bags at the Nabu business center.
The Hafen Revue Theater will host a quiz show, while the Sundown Skifflers will open the music program at 11:30 am and 2 pm, playing traditional skiffle pieces and oldies from the 60s and 70s. Later in the day, around 4:45 pm, the Neo-Soul band Soulrenders will take the stage, mixing soul, funk, and African music.
For the little ones, jumping castles, trampolines, and face painting will be available at Botschafter-Duckwitz-Platz and Reeder-Bischoff-Straße. Acrobat Jens Ohle will perform tours along the shopping mile.
Sea Shepherds will be on hand to inform the public about their work in Unterweser.
Participants of the bio market include SolaWi Sophienhof Hofladen, Hofladen Reichwald, mySolarFuture, Gaertnerhof Oldendorf & Solawi Oldendorf e.V., Agriculture Chamber Bremen, EWS Schoenau, frischeKISTE, Bauhof Wohnimpuls GmbH & Co. KG, and Furth Hof. Das Gemüseabo GmbH, Imkerei Büttelmann, and Verbraucherzentrale Bremen e.V. have also registered.
To top it all off, a live cooking show with Barbara Stadler will take place on Sedanplatz.
The festival's shops along the shopping mile will open for Sunday shopping from 1 pm to 6 pm on October 6th.
A pop-up store in the former Schuhhaus Nordenholz will open for the first time on Saturday, October 5th, and Sunday, October 6th, offering second-hand clothing and various workshop offers.
