New CEO appointed at RTL Zwei: Thorsten Braun, previously heading Super RTL, takes the helm

In a significant move for RTL Germany, Thorsten Braun has been appointed as the new CEO of RTL Two, effective by the end of the year. He succeeds Andreas Bartl, who has been temporarily replaced by Nicole Glatzmaier in Munich-Gruenwald.

Braun, a 53-year-old media manager with a proven track record in leading marketing positions, will officially take over his new role following the departure of Bartl. Prior to this, he served as Chief Marketing, Brand & Consumer Products Officer at RTL Deutschland.

Inga Leschek, Chief Content Officer at RTL Germany and chairwoman of the shareholders' meeting of RTL Two, expressed her confidence in Braun, stating that he fits perfectly with RTL Two. Leschek praised Braun as a creative and bold strategist in bringing content and brands to the people across all digital media paths.

Braun has expressed his eagerness to further develop RTL Two's brand, design potential, and create new growth impulses and innovative content. He has noted RTL Two's unique content profile, strong program brands, and reach across all platforms.

Nicole Glatzmaier is expected to remain on board under Braun, serving as CFO/COO alongside him. The exact date of Braun's assumption of the CEO role will be announced soon.

It's worth mentioning that a merger between RTL Two and the Ad Alliance was not approved by the cartel office. However, El Cartel, RTL Two's advertising partner, has expressed interest in working with Warner Bros. Discovery in the future.

RTL Two is majority-owned by the RTL Group, with Bauer and Leonine being other major shareholders, and Burda being a very small one. The press release about Braun's new position as CEO of RTL Two has been circulated.

As Braun prepares to take the helm, he looks forward to leading RTL Two economically boldly and successfully into the future, working with the RTL Two team.
