Mainz Climbs to Third in Family-Friendly Cities Ranking After Recalculation
Potsdam retains its top spot in the family-friendly cities ranking, with Ludwigshafen am Rhein closely following in second place. Meanwhile, Mainz has climbed to the third position, despite a slight adjustment in its score.
The recalculation, prompted by an error in the evaluation process, saw Neunkirchen drop from second to sixth place. The mistake was traced back to an incorrect accident rate per capita for Stuttgart. After correction, Mainz's score decreased slightly from 32.5 to 32.2 points, but it still managed to secure the third spot.
Mainz's strength lies in its excellent Care Credit (8.2 points) and Safety (9 points) categories. It boasts a high density of pediatricians and good midwife services, along with low crime rates and few traffic accidents. However, it performs less well in the Freetime and Quality of Life category, scoring only 2.4 out of 10 points.
Following the recalculation, Potsdam and Ludwigshafen am Rhein remain at the top, while Mainz secures the third position. Despite the slight decrease in score, Mainz's strong performance in Care Credit and Safety categories makes it a desirable place to live.
