Lubera's Essential Indoor Hydrangea Care Tips for Year-Round Blooms

Lubera, a leading horticultural expert, has shared essential care tips for indoor hydrangea. This popular flowering plant requires regular attention to thrive and bloom beautifully throughout the year.

Hydrangea should be fertilized every two weeks from February to October with mineral complexes specifically designed for flowering plants. This regular feeding helps promote lush blooms. However, fertilizing should cease during the winter months to allow the plant to rest.

Indoor hydrangea can bloom from April to November, providing a long season of colour and beauty. To encourage this extended blooming period, maintain high humidity levels around the plant. Regular misting, especially on hot days, helps achieve this. Additionally, hydrangea prefers diffused light and should be placed 2 to 3 meters away from a southern window to avoid direct sunlight.

Watering is crucial for hydrangea's health. During the summer, water the plant frequently and abundantly. In spring and autumn, water moderately, and in winter, water sparingly to accommodate the plant's reduced growth rate.

Hydrangea requires a consistent temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius during its active growth and blooming phases. During dormancy, the temperature can drop to between 7 to 10 degrees Celsius. By following these care tips, indoor hydrangea can flourish and reward you with stunning blooms for most of the year.
