Embrace Vibrant Hues in Your Living Space: Dulux's Brave Color Choice of 2025 Aims to Boost Your Color Confidence at Home

Looking to inject some bold color into your living space? Dulux's color selection for the year 2025 is designed to help you achieve that very goal.

In a bold move, Dulux, a leading paint manufacturer, has announced True Joy as the Colour of the Year for 2025. This energizing and motivating shade is set to bring a burst of positivity and hope to homes and interiors across the globe.

True Joy, a bright and sunny yellow, is a departure from Dulux's colour of the year for 2024, the soft pink shade, Sweet Embrace. The shift towards a more vibrant hue is in line with broader color trends that emphasize rich, moody, and sometimes vibrant colors, as seen in Pantone's Color of the Year, "Mocha Mousse."

Dulux's Creative Director and Colour Expert, Marianne Shillingford, explains that the choice of True Joy is meant to push individuals to create something better for themselves, reminding people to be bold in their home decor. True Joy is intended to inspire positivity, hope, and confidence.

To help individuals decorate with True Joy and pair it with other shades, Dulux has launched the Colour Moment 2025 with outlined colour palette suggestions. The Dulux Visualizer app offers three paint stories - Bold, Human, and Proud - each featuring a combination of colours including True Joy.

True Joy can be mixed into any Dulux paint finish, either online or in stores using a Dulux tinting machine. Dulux also offers a wide range of ready-mixed yellow paints, including Golden Sands, Lemon Spirit, and Vanilla Sundae, a soft, creamy yellow that is currently popular in both the interiors and fashion worlds.

Golden Sands, a warming yellow with a golden undertone, is more earthy and grounded than True Joy. On the other hand, Lemon Spirit is a cooler, softer yellow reminiscent of a lemon meringue pie, and is suitable for small spaces due to its light-reflective particles.

Sara Hesikova, a Content Editor at the platform since June 2024, starting as a News Writer in July 2023, and the platform's Certified Expert in Training on Furniture, offers suggestions for using the bright yellow color True Joy in the home. She suggests small accents like cushions, frames, vases, and ceiling details.

Dulux's partnership with YoungMinds, a charity that supports and provides mental health resources for people under 25, further emphasizes the company's commitment to positivity and hope. The choice of True Joy as the Colour of the Year 2025 is a call to look to the future and explore new horizons.

Sara Hesikova, a graduate from London College of Fashion with a bachelor's degree in fashion journalism in 2016, has worked with various fashion and lifestyle magazines and luxury bed linen brands before transitioning to interiors. Her expertise in both fashion and interiors makes her an ideal voice to guide individuals in incorporating the vibrant shade of True Joy into their homes.
