Kransoyarsk Will Transform into a City of Nightly Fires
Krasnoyarsk's Chief Architect, Julia Solovarova, announced plans to install architectural lighting on an additional 138 buildings in the city by 2028. Work on 60 buildings is scheduled for this year, with 78 to follow in the next three years.
Solovarova revealed these plans during a speech at the All-Russian Urbanism Conference, which focused on preparations for Krasnoyarsk's 400th anniversary. She stated that preparations for the celebration began on April 12, 2019, with the organization of city planning documents. A design code for Krasnoyarsk - an architectural and artistic regulations guide - was developed, with specialists currently working on creating building facade passports for over 1,300 buildings.
In addition, projects for the lighting of 350 objects have been realized, with 60 more buildings to be illuminated this year, and an additional 78 over the next three years.
The specialists are also collaborating with the Capital Repair Foundation to ensure that the color and appearance of building facades align with repair work before it begins. Simultaneously, the update and development of public spaces are ongoing. Plans include a grand unification of the embankments from the Uspensky Monastery to the Guards Park, covering the entire left bank of Krasnoyarsk.
For the right bank, plans call for extending the Yarygin Embankment to the Southern Shore region and creating a new embankment near the October Bridge.
Previously, the Krasnoyarsk City Hall published four procurement notices for the installation of architectural and artistic lighting on buildings in various districts of the city. Over half a billion rubles have been set aside for these projects.
The contractors are expected to complete the work by the end of this year, on or before November 15. Different types of LED light fixtures and projectors will be used for the lighting. They will be placed at the building corners, along the cornices, under balconies, and other structural elements to highlight the architecture, compositional elements, and facade sculpting in the dark hours.

These announcements supplemented the plans for architectural lighting on an additional 138 buildings by 2028, which she detailed earlier in her speech at the All-Russian Urbanism Conference.
