July's Temperature Rises with Jentel Showcase

On Tuesday, July 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library will play host to the Jentel Presents event. This free and open gathering invites all members of the community to attend, regardless of prior attendance.

The event, hosted by the Jentel Artist Residency, aims to allow artists in residence to share their visual work and writing with the Sheridan community. Attendees are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch, and cookies will be provided for added sweetness.

Two featured artists will be attending the event. Benjamin Rojas, a multidisciplinary artist and first-generation Salvadoran, brings a unique perspective to the table. His work is a testament to his cultural heritage and the multifaceted nature of identity.

Eli Pillaert, a multidisciplinary artist and queer southern woman, finds inspiration in Mardi Gras, swing dance, environmentalism, and community. Her art is a reflection of her experiences and the world around her.

Jerry Hirniak, a multidisciplinary artist from England, has a background in theater and lens-based work. His art is a blend of traditional and contemporary techniques, creating a unique and captivating visual experience.

Another artist, Erika Terwillinger, a sculptor from Minneapolis, treats her kitchen and garden as creative extensions of her studio. Her work reflects a deep connection with nature and a love for the everyday objects that surround us.

The public is warmly invited to attend this event, which will take place in the Inner Circle of the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library. For those interested in the August 26 installment, more details about the participating artists will be available closer to the event date on the official Jentel Residency social media or by contacting the library directly.
