Job opening announced at Lidl in Thuringia!
Lidl Supermarket in Bad Salzungen, Thuringia, to Relocate to a New, Larger Location
In an unexpected turn of events, Lidl, the popular discount store in Thuringia, has announced its plan to relocate from its present location on Rhoenstrasse. A notice placed at the entrance of the store indicates that the supermarket will cease operations on May 31st, 2025, at 4 PM. Despite the closure, customers can breathe a sigh of relief as Lidl will not abandon the area permanently.
According to a spokesperson from Lidl, the existing store will be demolished, making way for a modern, more substantial replacement. The aim is to provide customers with a new, improved shopping experience by offering increased space, advanced technology, and a better presentation of products. The sales area is set to expand to around 1,400 square meters, surpassing the new Aldi next door which has 1,050 square meters.
Customers can expect wider aisles and optimized product presentation, particularly in the fresh produce section which will gain additional space for fruit, vegetables, baked goods, fresh meat, and dairy products. Construction on the new store is slated to begin in June, with a tentative reopening scheduled for spring 2026.
Local shoppers who frequent the current Lidl location may find this transition challenging, but the discount store assures customers that their commitment to the Bad Salzungen community remains unwavering. The construction of the new store marks Lidl's ongoing efforts to continually develop and grow its branch portfolio both qualitatively and quantitatively.
In a statement to the press, the Lidl spokesperson highlighted the company's desire to offer customers in Bad Salzungen a modern shopping facility with attractive shopping conditions. This relocation is aimed at ensuring that the Lidl branch in Bad Salzungen operates in a future-oriented manner.
Despite the temporary closure, residents of Thuringia will not be left without a shopping option. The new Lidl store is set to cater to their needs effectively, making shopping a more pleasant experience overall.
During the transition, local residents can take advantage of Lidl's home-and-garden section for home improvement projects or updates. Additionally, with the expanded sales area, there will be a more significant variety of lifestyle products available for shopping.
