In the ever-changing world of consumer goods, some beloved products and brands have come and gone over the years. Here's a journey through time, highlighting some iconic food items that have left their mark, only to be discontinued and, in some cases, making a comeback.

One such brand that experienced a rollercoaster ride is Onken's Frufoo fruit yogurt. A staple at the turn of the millennium, its 2019 return tasted too different from the original, leading to its discontinuation and the entire Onken brand in May 2022. However, Frufoo made a comeback after being discontinued in 2004.

Nestlé's "Nestea" iced tea, introduced in the late 40s, enjoyed decades of popularity. Despite a 2018 relaunch, it didn't find the success it once had and was eventually discontinued in March 2023.

"Solero Shots", a trendy cooling treat from the 90s and early 2000s, was renamed "Calippo Shots" before being discontinued in 2017 due to sustainability concerns.

PepsiCo stopped production of Punica fruit juices in early 2023, but they have since returned with a new recipe. Another popular brand, Wrigley's mint gum, was ubiquitous in supermarkets in the 90s and early 2000s, but production ceased at the end of 2022 due to declining sales.

Declining demand also led to the end of "Vitraletten" fruit-flavoured hard candies, which had a loyal following since 1972. The manufacturer, Teekanne, discontinued their production in the spring of 2022.

Aldi Süd, a German discount supermarket chain, has recently stirred nostalgia with an advertisement featuring mint bonbons and reminiscing about the past. The advertisement, which has garnered over 12 million views on TikTok, has sparked memories of various Aldi products that were popular during different decades, including the Minzbonbons, which were well-loved but have apparently been discontinued.

The discontinuation of these iconic products has left a void in the hearts of many consumers, but the memories they evoke continue to live on. As the landscape of consumer goods continues to evolve, it's always fascinating to look back at the products that shaped our past.
