Hanoi to stage two unique artistic shows for the National Day commemoration
Hanoi, Vietnam, is set to host two special art performances in August and September 2025, marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
"Ha Noi - From the Historic Autumn of 1945"
The first event, titled "Ha Noi - From the Historic Autumn of 1945," will take place on August 15 at the August Revolution Square in Cừa Nam Ward. This performance will incorporate various art forms such as music, contemporary dances, theatrical scenes, documentary projections, 3D mapping, and state-of-the-art lighting and sound. Renowned artists, professional performance troupes, and students from local art schools will participate in the event.
"Ha Noi - Eternal Aspiration of Việt Nam"
The second event, titled "Ha Noi - Eternal Aspiration of Việt Nam," is scheduled for August 31 at the National Exhibition Centre in Đông Anh commune. This performance will serve as a highlight within the broader national socio-economic achievements exhibition. It will be broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television, as well as digital platforms.
A Comprehensive Programme
Both events are organized by Hanoi to honour the historic milestones of the August Revolution and National Day. They aim to promote patriotism, revolutionary traditions, and the national development vision as Vietnam enters a new era. The programme will consist of three chapters: "Ha Noi Date, Month, Year," "Ha Noi Through the Eyes of the People," and "Việt Nam - A New Day."
In addition to these performances, Hanoi is coordinating with ministries and agencies to organize a series of major events. An incense and wreath-laying ceremony is planned for September 1, a national scientific conference will take place on August 14, and a lacquer painting exhibition will run from August 10 to September 10.
Fireworks Displays and Documentary Exhibition
The celebrations will also include a grand military parade and public procession on September 2 at Ba Dinh Square and several main streets in central Hanoi. This event is expected to attract about 30,000 people, plus parade participants. Hanoi will also organize a major fireworks show on the evening of September 2 at five locations: Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Van Quan Lake, My Dinh National Stadium, and West Lake.
From August 12 to September 18, 2025, the National Library of Vietnam will host a documentary exhibition titled "Autumn of Independence and Aspiration for Prosperity." This exhibition displays 800 documents and 80 photos portraying vivid historical events leading to the August Revolution.
Overall, the activities combine military ceremony, fireworks, visual arts, exhibitions, and cultural performances. They aim to foster patriotism, national pride, unity, and gratitude toward those who sacrificed for independence, while emphasizing the continued leadership of the Communist Party and the country's aspirations for prosperity. These events reflect Hanoi's role in leading the national celebration of this pivotal anniversary in Vietnam's history.
With the second performance titled "Ha Noi - Eternal Aspiration of Việt Nam" in August, the art of music will blend with contemporary dances and AI-driven 3D mapping to depict the country's strong-willed aspirations for a prosperous lifestyle. Meanwhile, one can embark on a visual journey through history within home-and-garden settings, as the National Library of Vietnam hosts the "Autumn of Independence and Aspiration for Prosperity" documentary exhibition from August to September.
