Vluyn Fair Returns in June: Key Details and Traffic Restrictions
The town center of Vluyn will transform into a lively fairground from Friday, June 12, to Monday, June 16, 2025. As part of the festivities, an afternoon stroll can be enjoyed from 3 PM on Friday, with the "Happy Hour" offering discounted prices on selected showman items from 3 to 5 PM.
In this vibrant event, visitors can indulge in various attractions, including traditional stands with activities like ball throwing, archery, and raffles, as well as thrilling rides such as the Grass Auto-Scooter, Crazy Dancer, Musik Express, and numerous children's rides. Delicious food options will also be available, ranging from Poffertjes and Churros to classic bratwurst.
On Sunday, June 15, the Vluyn Klompenfreunde will celebrate their 75th anniversary with a grand parade and subsequent festivities in the festival tent on the Platz am Museum. Details about the event's program will be made available by the Vluyn Klompenfreunde. A highlight on Monday, the final day, will be the traditional Klompenball, featuring a Klompenfreunde parade through Vluyn before the street fair concludes in the evening.
To note, access restrictions will be in place for vehicles during the Vluyn Fair. From Wednesday, June 11, at 6 PM, to Tuesday, June 17, around 12 PM, the Niederrheinallee will be closed to through traffic between the TROX and Vutzkreisel intersections. The Pastoratstraße between the Niederrheinallee, Bruckhausfeld, and the Platz am Museum will also be closed for the same period, rendering parking spaces at the Niederrheinallee, Pastoratstraße, Bruckhausfeld, and the Leineweberplatz unavailable. The Platz am Museum is already closed for the setup of the festival tent from Tuesday, June 10. Shoppers are advised to park their cars in nearby streets and parking lots, with detour signs posted accordingly. The NIAG bus line will operate on detour routes from June 11 to 17.
Due to the scarcity of parking spaces during the fair, the local authority encourages using public transportation, cycling, or walking to reach Vluyn. Apologies are requested for any inconveniences caused.
