Cityfest 2025 in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt: A Lively Celebration with a New Addition
The annual City Festival, or Cityfest, is set to take place in the heart of Lebenstedt from the 15th to the 17th of August. This year's event promises a vibrant atmosphere, live music, and community fun, with the addition of a new feature: the Sports and Club Mile.
The city center, from the Stadtpassage to the town hall and along Chemnitzer Straße, will be transformed into a bustling festival area. Three stages will be set up, with live programs on two of them: one at the Wohnbau stage at the Monument and another on Chemnitzer Straße near Café Carré. A third stage will be located at the Jever-Klause on Chemnitzer Straße.
A highlight of the festival will be the popular fireworks display, scheduled for Friday night. However, the exact timing for the fireworks or a detailed itinerary is yet to be announced.
In an effort to make everyday life and participation in public events easier for people with sensory sensitivities and autism, a "Quiet Hour" will be observed on Saturday and Sunday, from 13:00 to 14:00, on the festival grounds in front of the town hall. During this hour, lights will be dimmed, and music and other sound sources will be turned down or off.
Visitors can look forward to discovering new hobbies and even participating in some activities at the Sports and Club Mile, which will be set up on a section of Chemnitzer Straße. Local clubs and sports groups will have the opportunity to present themselves and showcase their offerings at this new addition to the festival.
Around 60 food stalls, stands, snack bars, and drink stands will be available for visitors. Shops in the City Lebenstedt will be open for customers from 13:00 to 18:00 on Sunday.
