In a significant move for animal welfare, JJ4, formerly known as Bear Gaia, has been relocated to the Alternative Wolf and Bear Park in Germany's Black Forest. The bear, notorious for a tragic incident in Trentino, Italy in 2023, is now residing in a high-security enclosure, following months of legal battles.

The park, renowned for its commitment to animal welfare, has taken JJ4 in, marking a shift towards prioritising safety and well-being for the animal. The relocation comes amidst intense public debate, with the focus on ensuring a better future for JJ4.

The bears at the park, including JJ4, Jurka, and Isa, share a diverse diet, with 80% of their food being plant-based and the remaining 20% animal-based. Upon her arrival, JJ4 was served a meal of fennel and pears. However, specific details about her current diet and behaviour remain undisclosed.

JJ4 lives alone in her enclosure, a high-security structure costing approximately one million euros, and is not visible to visitors. The enclosure is secured with a high fence and an anti-digging barrier for safety reasons. The park's spokesperson confirmed that JJ4 is currently being observed and studied.

Interestingly, JJ4 does not distinguish between other bears or her mother Jurka, who is also a resident of the park. Despite this, mother and daughter will not meet due to safety concerns.

JJ4 was transported from Italy to her new home in Germany. As of now, there is no information about when she will be released into her designated enclosure. The park team, responsible for the care of all animals, is ensuring that JJ4 adjusts smoothly to her new surroundings.

For the latest updates on JJ4's behaviour and status, direct contact with the park or follow-up news updates would be necessary. The relocation of JJ4 to the Black Forest Bear Park marks a step towards rehabilitation and a second chance for the bear, offering hope for a peaceful future.

The Black Forest Bear Park, known for its focus on home-and-garden lifestyle with its emphasis on plant-based resources, introduces JJ4 to a more serene lifestyle as she resides in her new enclosure. With the shift towards prioritizing JJ4's safety and well-being, the park continues to uphold its commitment to animal welfare.
