Expanded Best Of contests debut by Forum Communications alongside the announcement of a new regional business recommendations initiative

In an exciting development, Forum Communications is set to unveil a brand new Best of the Midwest website this fall. The expanded program, initiated and coordinated by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), will cover cities across the Upper Midwest.

The Best of the Midwest website will be the home for more than 14 local 'Best of the Best' contests and winner directories. These contests, recognizing local businesses of excellence across various categories, have been a reader favorite for more than 15 years.

Historically, these contests have taken place during a two-week period. However, with the expansion, the contests will now be available year-round. The Best of the Red River Valley, Best of the Bemidji Area, Best of Brainerd Lakes, Best of the Lakes Area (Detroit Lakes), Best of the Lakes Region (Alexandria), Best of the Western Edge, Best of the Best Greater Grand Forks, Best of the Jamestown Area, Best of Mitchell, Best of The Globe, Best of the Best, Post Bulletin, Best of the Best, Duluth News Tribune, and Best of the Best, West Central Tribune are among the 13 established contests that will be integrated into the new platform.

The new website will feature a refreshed 'Best of the Best' brand, with a cohesive logo mark across all participating markets. A search function will be available to help readers easily find a category or business recommendation, and to help advertisers easily locate their own listing. For advertisers, a downloadable media kit will provide tactics for improving their chances of receiving 'Best of the Best' recognition.

The Best of the Best, InForum contest is currently accepting votes, with voting open through Oct. 5. Readers can stay informed about how to participate in local contests through a 'Best Of' newsletter.

In addition to the contests, the Best of the Midwest website will also feature a regionalized newsfeed of content focused on offering travelers recommendations of where to eat, stay, and play in the Midwest. Results of the contests have been published shortly after their conclusion, and easy-button navigation from Forum Communications' local news sites to the Best of the Midwest website will be available for year-round access to winners and contest information.

Archives of past digital editions of 'Best Of' magazines will also be available on the Best of the Midwest website, providing a comprehensive resource for readers and advertisers alike. The expansion of the Best of program in the Midwest promises to bring even more recognition and support to local businesses, making it an exciting time for the region.
