Every resident of Hagen has the opportunity to become a part of an artistic creation
On August 23, 2025, the Karl-Ernst-Osthaus Museum in Hagen will play host to a unique group portrait photoshoot by Flemish photographer Noortje Palmers. This event is part of a larger project, with participants invited to be a part of a new work by the acclaimed artist.
The photoshoot, which forms part of a larger group portrait, will take place on a parking deck in Hagen. Participants are asked to wear silver ponchos provided for the shoot, symbolising the steel and modernity of the industrial revolution. Those interested in taking part are invited to register by emailing Pia Goebel at [email protected] by August 20.
The concept for the "Pattern" photograph involves Hagen residents forming an ornament inspired by the shapes of the Hagen Impulse. The participants are seen as the heirs of industry and descendants of an era when form and function merged in the pursuit of progress in design and production.
The photoshoot is generously supported by the Krupp Foundation, the Art Foundation NRW, and the Sparkasse at Volme and Ruhr. The project and exhibition are also supported by the Osthaus Museum Hagen, which will be the first solo exhibition of Noortje Palmers in Germany.
The photograph from one of these works will be exhibited in the exhibition "Noortje Palmers. People of the 21st Century," opening on October 31, at the Osthaus Museum Hagen. The exhibition will take place from November 1, 2025, to February 1, 2026.
Public transportation (bus lines 525 and 542) is recommended for attending the photoshoot. Unfortunately, parking fees incurred during the photoshoot cannot be reimbursed.
At this time, no additional information about the event, registration, or exhibition has been made publicly available. For the most accurate and updated information, we recommend checking the official Hagen venue website, Noortje Palmers' personal or professional social media profiles, or contacting local art event organizers in Hagen directly.
