Event Showcasing Latin American Cultural Expression

Get ready for a vibrant and diverse four-day celebration as the 4th Festival Cultural Latinoamericano Dresden takes place from Thursday, August 7, to Sunday, August 10, 2025. The festival, now in its fourth year, will be held at Hanse 3 and Blaue Fabrik.

The opening ceremony will kick off the festivities at Hanse 3 on Thursday, August 7. Over the following days, visitors can look forward to a packed schedule of events, including live music performances, dance workshops, literature events, political discussions, a children's circus, and more.

Highlights of the Festival

Some of the highlights of this year's festival include:

  • Dance Performances: Latinsoul, Champeta with Vanessa, Ayllujata, and Ama Saywa will take the stage, showcasing a variety of Latin dance styles.
  • Music Performances: Kumbia Ambassadors, Funky Noodle, Sazón Montuno, and Trova from Abya Yala will entertain festival-goers with their unique Latin American sounds.
  • Workshops: Capoeira Colombia International with Edinson, Tomás Batista & Ma Oriki, Bluoverda e.V., and MLATTS will conduct workshops on various topics, from capoeira to sustainable spices and elevating Latin American voices.
  • Theater and Storytelling: La Chispa, El Cuentacuentos from Dresden, and Wendy Fernández will captivate audiences with their performances in Spanish.
  • Children's Activities: A piñata event, a storytelling photosticker workshop, and Titiricirco de los Vientos' circus performance will ensure there's something for the little ones.

Food and Drinks

Food and drinks will be provided by a variety of vendors, including Empanadas, El Cubanito, Martínez, Nibs Cacao, Mesa Peruana, Pau Pau, Mesa Mexicana, Perritos Calientes, Mesa Venezolana, and Mesa Dominicana.

Special Events

On Saturday, August 9, a Cacao ceremony with Art Consciousness will take place, while on Sunday, August 10, a Storytelling Photosticker Workshop with Bela Álvarez will be held. The festival will conclude with a Toast, Farewell, and Closing at 10:00 PM on Sunday.

Accessibility and Funding

The festival is open to people of all ages, and many families are expected to attend. Although there is no fixed entrance fee, donations are requested due to a lack of funding this year. The festival is supported solely by Sparkasse.
