Evening showcase at the market halls: art, illumination, and connection
On the 20th of September, 20XX, the goods halls in Alexander-Coppel-Straße, Südpark, Solingen will transform into a vibrant canvas of light and art, as the Lichternacht event returns. This year, the event is in collaboration with the project "Lichternacht in Mitte".
The artist collective Künstlerpack will be the main attraction, with Wolfgang Flad, Tobias Lischka, Anne-Kathrin Hollberg, Marco Mamone, and Roswitha Dietzel showcasing their work under the title "When Colors Whisper and Light Responds". This exhibition promises a unique exploration of light installations, exhibitions, music, and cabaret.
Visitors can expect a variety of captivating light installations, both indoors and outdoors. Atelier Ulrike Ella Rüther will be a focal point, with glowing light objects taking centre stage. Dirk Arndt's exhibition Astwerk Lichtkunst will also be on display at Atelier Volker Heise.
Music will provide the perfect backdrop to the evening, with Markus Hartmann performing musical interludes in Hall 26. A special highlight will be Mark Werner's walking act with his imaginative steampunk zeppelin.
Atelier BUKOLEI features a room installation with light and fabric elements, while Atelier Beatrix Deus is hosting "Small Art Stage - Young Art". This stage will showcase works by Maja Lerch and Deus' own project Save Our Planet.
The event promises an intimate and cosy atmosphere, with a smaller scale this year. The cabaret trio "Clearly Ambiguous" will perform at 7:00 PM.
