Dusseldorf Introduces Temporary Workspaces and Longer Operating Hours

In an effort to accommodate the increased demand for municipal services before the summer holidays, the City of Düsseldorf has announced several changes.

Firstly, over 2,000 additional appointments are being created due to extended Wednesday afternoons in all citizen's offices. These extended hours will provide citizens with more opportunities to attend to their administrative needs.

Secondly, Pop-Up Citizen's Offices are being set up in Düsseldorf until June 26th. These temporary service points aim to provide easier access to municipal services, especially during busy periods such as summer. While the exact locations, dates, and hours for these Pop-Up Citizen's Offices are not yet confirmed, they are typically found in central or frequently visited areas and run during business hours.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information about the Düsseldorf Pop-Up Citizen's Offices for summer 2025, citizens are advised to check the official Düsseldorf city website (stadt.duesseldorf.de) under the Bürgerbüro or service section. Alternatively, they can contact the Düsseldorf City Hall or Bürgerbüro directly via phone or email. Local news portals or social media channels of Düsseldorf's city administration can also provide updates.

In addition to the Pop-Up Citizen's Offices, online services for registering or deregistering a residence, applying for certificates of residence, certificates of good conduct, and resident parking permits are available on the City of Düsseldorf's Online Services platform (Online Services - City of Düsseldorf).

It's worth noting that the demand for appointments at citizen's offices has increased due to the expiration of passports, which is a notable reason for the surge.

The Pop-Up Citizen's Office will be available on a mobile basis in Lichtenbroich on June 10th and Unterrath on July 24th. No appointment is necessary for these mobile Pop-Up Citizen's Offices. Emails can be sent to [email protected] to request an appointment for other Pop-Up Citizen's Offices.

For those who prefer a more traditional approach, the Pop-Up Citizen's Office will be open at the Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum on June 2nd, the Münster-Therme on June 24th, and at the Schlossturm in the Schifffahrtsmuseum on June 26th.
