During the period from August 8 to August 11, Dorthausen will honor its artillerymen in a celebration ceremony.

From August 1st to August 4th, the Christophorus Marksmen's Fraternity of Dorthausen is hosting its Volksfest and Heimatfest. An exceptional lineup of events spans from the seniors' afternoon to the klompenball on the sports field at the playground on Christophorus street.

During the period from August 8 to August 11, Dorthausen will honor its artillerymen in a celebration ceremony.

Get ready for a fun-filled weekend as the St. Vitus Shooting Brotherhood Grefrath-Oedt's festival returns from August 1st to 4th. Here are some of the key events and activities you can look forward to:

August 1st

  • DJ Alex "K" will entertain the audience in the festival tent at 7:30 pm.
  • Seniors will celebrate with coffee and cake in the festival tent from 2 pm.
  • DJ Dirk Heinrich will cater to his "mature" audience in the festival tent.

August 2nd

  • The opening ball in the festival tent will take place from 7 pm with lively music by the party band Roland Brüggen.
  • Wreath-laying ceremonies will take place at 4:45 pm (Chapel Kothausen) and 5:30 pm (Chapel Dorthausen).
  • The "Great Tattoo" will take place at the wayside cross (Christophorusstraße) at 6 pm.
  • The royal maypoles will be set up at the campsite.
  • A preliminary parade will take place after the royal maypoles are set up.
  • Tambour corps Neuwerk, the Hardter wind music, and the brass band "Patria" Neuwerk will participate in the processions.
  • The marksmen take over in Dorthausen, led by Marcus Engelmann, Ulf Bimm, and Michael Dols.

August 3rd

  • A holy mass for the living and deceased of the home district will take place at the wayside cross at 10 am.
  • A pleasant early lunch with honors will take place in the festival tent after the parade.
  • Tambour corps Neuwerk, the Hardter wind music, and the brass band "Patria" Neuwerk will participate in the processions.
  • A parade will take place in front of the guest brotherhoods Hehn, Rheindahlen, Güntheroven and guests of the St. Notburga Shooting Brotherhood Viersen - Rahser 1705 e.V., St. Nepomuk Brotherhood Ungerath, St. Josef Brotherhood Venn at 6 pm at the Sitterhof.
  • On Monday (4th August), a camp will take place in the festival tent.

August 4th

  • On Monday (4th August), a wooden shoe parade will take place at 12 pm, followed by the wooden shoe ball in the festival tent.
  • A king's bird shot will take place around 2 pm near the festival tent.
  • DJ Dirk Heinrich will accompany the wooden shoe ball in the festival tent.
