Diving into the Realm of Slime

================================================================================

In a recent endeavour, a mother took on a new crafting project, venturing into the world of slime-making. A new Pinterest board entry (Pin12) was made to document the process, as she sought to gauge her son's interest in this popular activity.

The slime-making process began with a simple recipe from Frugal Fun 4 Boys. The basic ingredients included 5 fl oz of clear glue, 3-4 fl oz of liquid starch, and 2-3 drops of food coloring. The author, who is not particularly fond of messy crafts, found this recipe to be an appealing starting point due to its simplicity.

To create the slime, the author followed a straightforward process. She poured an equal amount of clear glue and liquid starch into a mixing bowl, stirred the mixture thoroughly, and watched as it began to thicken and come together. When the slime got too thick to stir, she took it out and kneaded it with her hands, transforming it into a stretchy, less sticky substance.

If the slime remained sticky, the author added a little more liquid starch, a small amount at a time, while kneading until the desired texture was achieved. This method, which does not require additional fillers like shaving cream or iron oxide powder, provided the author with a simple clear slime with a smooth texture.

The author's slime-making journey did not end there. She collaborated with Laura from Lalymom to create bubble dough, and later, they made slime together. The slime created by the author and Laura had two colours that eventually merged, resulting in a visually appealing final product. Laura packed the slime into bags for storage, and the merged slime looked better according to the author.

LalyMom, who has created more slime experiences since their first one, has a video demonstrating how to make slime available, and Laura's version of events can be read on her blog. Little Big Man (10m), who had been napping earlier, was able to play with the slime, making the whole experience even more enjoyable for the author.

In conclusion, the author's slime-making adventure was a success. She not only managed to gauge her son's interest in slime but also discovered a new hobby that is both fun and relatively mess-free. The equal parts clear glue and liquid starch recipe, combined with a few drops of food coloring, proved to be an easy, quick way to make slime at home.

In the continuation of her slime-making adventure, the author decided to expand her home-and-garden hobbies, delving into the realm of home-made home-and-garden crafts like creating bubble dough. This newfound curiosity in home-and-garden crafts reflects her evolving lifestyle, blending fun activities with quality time spent at home with her son.
