In a bid to foster understanding and collaboration, the Police Headquarters Southeast Hesse hosted two intercultural evenings as part of the nationwide 'Intercultural Week'. These events, unique in Hesse and even nationwide, took place in Offenbach and Hanau.

The evenings offered an opportunity for open dialogue at eye level to address current societal issues and convey preventive measures. Sophia Christen, an employee of the Prevention Department, led the events, which aimed to create encounters, strengthen trust, and shape the future together.

The 2024 Intercultural Evening in Offenbach was musically accompanied by singer Chaymaa Rafoud and keyboard player Nana Ampadu. The following day, the event continued in Hanau in cooperation with the city at the Kulturhalle Hanau-Steinheim.

Prof. Dr. Murad Erdemir, director of the Hesse Media Authority, delivered a keynote speech at the 2024 Intercultural Evening. His speech focused on the role of the Hesse Media Authority. Marc Sachs, Daniel Muth, and Dr. Maximilian Bieri also gave speeches to the more than 100 guests, including representatives of various organizations, who attended the intercultural evenings.

The intercultural evenings, initiated by the Prevention Department of the South East Hesse Police Headquarters under the motto 'New Spaces', proved to be a successful model of preventive work. The increased number of participants at both events underscores the relevance of the dialogue between the police and civil society.
