Creative Industries Conference Set for Yakutsk's Hosting
Unleashing Innovation in the East: From Creativity to Wealth - That's the theme for the upcoming II Forum of Creative Industries happening in Yakutsk from May 29 to 31.
The forum will be a grand finale for the educational program "Breeding Innovators in Creative Hubs," a nine-week journey that kicked off at the Far Eastern Federal University in March. Over a hundred bigwigs from creative hotspots across 11 regions in the East joined in.
During the program, they honed their skills in audience engagement, dived deep into regional marketing strategies, navigated financial planning, and learned the tricks of attracting investments and planning events. At the program's culmination, these innovative thinkers will showcase their projects.
After the educational program, these trailblazers will be welcomed at the Yakutsk Creative Industries Forum. Here, they'll rub shoulders with top-tier experts, forge professional connections with peers from other regions, and gain insights into the best practices. The focal point of the event will be the "Labor Quarter" creative cluster.
Hasan Hasanbalayev, the Executive Director of the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic for Social Development, stated, "With the backing of the Ministry of the Russian Far East, we're moving full steam ahead to set up creative clusters in Blagoveshchensk, Vladivostok, Ulan-Ude, and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. In Yakutia, the 'Labor Quarter' creative cluster, established under the benefits of the advanced development territory regime, is thriving, with over 200 residents already turning their visions into reality."
He further added that in 2023, each established cluster will host a resident with a yearly turnover exceeding 100 million rubles. By 2027, at least one resident from each cluster must break into the global market, and no fewer than four companies in each region should transition from small to medium-sized businesses, with at least one creative company growing from medium to large.
Interestingly, Russia is not just focusing on nurturing creative clusters but also boosting economic development and technological advancements in the Far East. New materials like pure hafnium and zirconium, crucial for various industrial applications, are being developed[2]. Moreover, the government is working on expanding educational programs and infrastructure development, aiming to create educational and industrial clusters across different regions, which could indirectly benefit creative industries by providing skilled professionals and enhanced collaboration opportunities[1].
At the upcoming Yakutsk Creative Industries Forum, innovative thinkers will present their projects, immersing themselves in a platform for connecting with top-tier experts and peers from different regions. Embracing outdoor-living and home-and-garden, the 'Labor Quarter' creative cluster in the 'Labor Quarter' will offer an ideal setting for exploring lifestyle trends in line with the best practices of the creative industries.
