Art Exhibit at Nørden Festival: Miniature Houses Created by Renowned Street Artists Up for Auction
In an innovative blend of art and charity, the organizers of the Nørden Festival in Schleswig have introduced a unique art project called "Light Houses" this year. Thirty shoebox-sized houses, meticulously designed and painted by renowned street artists and students from the Danish art school Sønderborg, will be exhibited at this year's event.
Initially, the bare concrete house prototype appeared rather dilapidated, resembling an abandoned residence. However, with the illumination of a flashlight, it transforms into a warm and mystical structure. The first miniature house was developed by Hamburg street artist Markus Becker, better known as "concrete.vandalism," who also facilitated connections with his fellow artists.
The agency "hejnorden," run by Manfred Pakusius, 61, and Marno Happ, 44, played a significant role in this project. Known for organizing the late-summer music and art festival, Nørden, the agency has been politically engaged and has a long-standing association with Hinz&Kunzt. According to Pakusius, the charity art project was instantly embraced by the participating artists as an opportunity to make a difference.
The mini-houses, each artistically distinctive, will be auctioned off at the Nørden Festival, with the proceeds going to Hinz&Kunzt. Engaging the community has been a crucial aspect of the project, attracting many visitors to the artists' workshops and numerous fundraising events.
This exhibition is a testament to the collaborative power of art and community, combining creativity with charitable giving. The upcoming the Nørden Festival is set to display these miniature masterpieces as part of the auction event. Additionally, the festival will feature a showcase of the participating artists' works and a variety of community activities to create an enriching experience for attendees.
