Countdown to the upcoming anniversary exhibition at Plyuchov Castle in a few days' time

Schloss Plüschow, a historic rococo-style castle nestled between Wismar and Lübeck in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, is currently hosting an anniversary exhibition titled "For the Beautiful and the Freedom." This exhibition, which marks the artist house's 35 years of cultural work, demonstrates the connection between history and the present, tradition and artistic experimentation.

Built in 1763 by the Hamburg merchant Philipp Heinrich Stenglin, Schloss Plüschow boasts preserved rococo stucco ceilings that reflect its originally rich furnishing. Since 1990, the castle has functioned as an internationally recognised artist house and cultural venue under the support of the Förderkreis Schloss Plüschow e. V. It provides six guest studios, a printing workshop, and a library for visual artists, who can apply for residency fellowships known as the Schloss Plüschow grant to live and work there.

The castle hosts year-round cultural activities including exhibitions, classical concerts, readings, and even tango evenings, making it a vibrant cultural hub. In addition to supporting artistic production, Schloss Plüschow has actively engaged in social initiatives such as refugee integration, using its cultural platform to foster inclusion and intercultural dialogue.

Miro Zahra, the artist house's director and exhibition curator, was awarded the Helene-Weber Prize in 2020 for his work in integration. The artist house, under Zahra's leadership, has been involved in integration work with refugees through workshops and cultural projects since 2015.

Many international artists from the artist house's collection are participating in the anniversary exhibition. The exhibition showcases the remarkable diversity of the art scene over the past 35 years. Originally scheduled to end, the exhibition has been extended, allowing more visitors to experience this cultural celebration.

A guided tour of the exhibition will be led by Miro Zahra on Sunday at 3 pm. The exhibition can be visited until August 24. For those interested in the history and evolution of Schloss Plüschow, a documentary about the artist house's creation, renovation, and main programmatic focuses is available.

Schloss Plüschow is internationally recognized and is one of the most important art venues in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It stands alongside Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop and Schloss Bröllin as significant art venues in the region. The documentary highlights the success story of an art venue outside metropolises, located in Mecklenburg's landscape.

In conclusion, Schloss Plüschow's anniversary exhibition is a testament to the artist house's commitment to cultural promotion, artistic production, and social integration. It offers a unique opportunity to explore the evolution of art over the past 35 years and to appreciate the vibrant cultural scene in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
