Polestar Unveils Enhanced In-Car Experience

In a bid to offer a more seamless and enjoyable driving experience, Polestar has equipped its latest models with a host of innovative features.

The Polestar 2 and the upcoming Polestar 4 both support Apple CarPlay, with the Polestar 2 offering a wired connection and the Polestar 4 coming with wireless connectivity. This integration allows drivers to access their iPhone's maps, music, and messages directly on the car's central display.

The central display, serving as a command center for various car functions and entertainment offerings, is a common feature across all Polestar vehicles. It boasts a user-friendly interface that makes navigating through menus and accessing apps as easy as operating a tablet.

Polestar vehicles also offer integration with Google Home, enabling voice control over various vehicle functions and smart home devices. This feature allows drivers to check battery charge status, activate climate functions, and control smart home devices without taking their eyes off the road.

Charging stops, thanks to ultra-rapid charging capabilities, are required less frequently than expected, typically taking around half an hour or less. During these breaks, drivers can make the most of their time by enjoying leisure activities such as watching TV shows, listening to music, or playing games on the Polestar's entertainment system.

The Google Play store offers a variety of in-car apps, including productivity-boosting apps, entertainment apps like Prime Video, YouTube, Tidal, Sybel, Audible, Pocket Casts, Gamesnacks, and gaming titles. The Polestar 3 is set to join the ranks with wireless Apple CarPlay offering coming soon.

The Polestar 4's in-car entertainment system interface is designed to make using apps and car functions more intuitive, featuring a 15.4-inch, frameless centre display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a landscape orientation.

Polestar has also taken a step towards promoting sustainability by offering the Breathe app. This app transforms the car into a place of rest and relaxation with minimalist visuals and calming therapeutic sounds.

In addition to these features, Polestar vehicles come with dedicated head-up displays that beam important information in front of the driver. The centre display can remember the settings and preferences of up to six drivers, including seating, mirror positioning, and most-used apps.

The first three years of in-car data are included in the price of a Polestar, keeping the car constantly connected to the Internet. Moreover, the Google Automotive Keyboard app can be downloaded for a Polestar touchscreen, turning it into a computer keyboard for work and home-life tasks while recharging the battery pack or waiting for the school run.

Polestar has also highlighted its commitment to diversity by featuring notable personalities such as professional cyclist Demi Vollering, racing driver Shana Claessens, American basketball player Kevin Love, and Dutch mountaineer Nanne Sluis in its portraits.
