Second Christmas Market in Solingen Set to Delight Visitors

Prepare for a festive season like no other as Solingen gears up for its second Christmas Market! Taking place on the third Advent weekend, the market will open its doors from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day.

Organised by the Palliative Hospice Solingen (PhoS) association and the Botanical Garden Solingen Foundation, this year's Christmas market promises a delightful mix of regional products, homemade goods from Solingen, and a host of exciting activities for all ages.

The market will feature around 40 exhibitors, including food stalls and cafes, ensuring that visitors are well-fed and merry throughout their visit. The Burger-Schmette and the café in the greenhouse will be among the food stalls offering delicious treats.

For the musically inclined, the market will feature performances by Anton Piano, a piano prodigy at just 11 years old, who will perform at 1 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Kerstin Putsch, a local talent, will take the stage at 2 p.m. on both days, while a brass group from the local hunting association will entertain visitors at 3 p.m. Petra Berghaus will perform at 4 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Children will not be left out of the fun, with activities such as making stockbrots in a yurt, children's readings, and visits to the Tropical House with the Felix Kids Club and the Child Protection Association offering face painting. Santa Claus will also be making an appearance, and visitors can have their photo taken with him.

Remy Matelot, a street artist, will also be on hand to create soap bubble magic. The farm garden will also be included in the Christmas market this year, adding a rustic charm to the festivities.

The second Christmas market is expected to be bigger and more organised than the first trial run, which was a resounding success. Visitors queued up during the trial run, and the event was overwhelming for the organisers. However, with the increased size and organisation, the second Christmas market is set to be a memorable event for all who attend.
