Celebrating Six Decades of Carnival with Bi-Wa Altenkrempe

Celebrating Six Decades of Devotion, Euphoria, and Patriotism - Bi-Wa Altenkrempe Honors 60 Years of Service

Last Saturday in the historic Sierhagen manor, the Bi-Wa Altenkrempe carnival association celebrated an extraordinary milestone—60 years of promoting joy, camaraderie, and local tradition. With nearly 200 members, Bi-Wa Altenkrempe has weaved itself into the fabric of Altenkrempe's cultural and social life.

Roots in Altenkrempe

Founded by ten visionaries in 1965, these pioneers had a bold idea: to establish a carnival association that would bring people together, preserve traditions, and celebrate their home. Today, Bi-Wa Altenkrempe has flourished, enriching the community with annual carnival celebrations, the Bürger Vogelschießen, excursions, flea markets, and dance performances.

Enduring Legacy

The association's rich history was acknowledged by condolences and speeches from friendly organizations, former members, and Altenkrempe's mayor Peter Zink. In his address, Zink emphasized the role of Bi-Wa Altenkrempe in shaping the region, praising the dedication of chairman Hartmut Wieske and the spirit of unity that unites the association.

The anniversary saw heartfelt speeches from Sina Büning, the second chairperson, who highlighted Wieske's 34-year service and his ability to bridge generations in creating a unity rarely seen in other organizations. Büning also shared stories of association's humble beginnings and the courage of its founders.

The mystical thrill of the Bürger Vogelschießen, the captivating performances of the dance group, and a witty poem by Pastor Friedemann Holmer added to the elegant proceedings that brought the community together to celebrate Bi-Wa Altenkrempe.

60 Years and Counting

As Bi-Wa Altenkrempe embarks on its seventh decade, it carries forward a legacy of love, unity, and pride that resonates throughout the village. Plans are underway for a special 60th anniversary celebration, certain to create memories that will last another half-century.

Join Bi-Wa Altenkrempe as they revel in the past, embrace the present, and journey into the future, exemplifying the spirit of German carnival traditions.
