Braunschweig's Modernized Dirtbike Course Reopens as Eco-Friendly Hub

Braunschweig's Dirtbike course has reopened after a successful modernization project led by Gerold Leppa, the city's economic affairs officer. The 90,000 euro revamp has transformed the facility into an eco-friendly, durable, and attractive hub for bike enthusiasts of all ages in Lamme.

The course, located south of Lamme Grundschule, now boasts three main jump areas, each featuring two jumps at 1.80 meters and 1.10 meters. A challenging ramp stands at 1.60 meters, while a special mountain bike trail and a backtrail/pumptrail allow users to return to the starting area. The redesign prioritized renewable and durable materials, making it predominantly green.

Leppa, also managing director of Braunschweig Marketing GmbH, oversaw the project following a 2020 petition by leisure sports enthusiasts. The city provided tools in a container on-site, enabling users to maintain the course themselves. Mayor Dr. Thorsten Kornblum officially reopened the modernized course on October 2nd, aiming to create an appealing meeting point for bike lovers in Lamme.

The modernized Dirtbike course in Brunswick offers an exciting space for bike enthusiasts, with improved facilities and a focus on sustainability. The city's investment of 90,000 euros has successfully revived the course, providing a new hub for outdoor activities and community engagement.
