AI-Driven Home Decor Company Vaaree Secures USD 4.6 Million Investment from Peer Capital for Expansion
Bengaluru, India - Vaaree, a home decor startup founded in February 2022, has recently raised $4.6 million in a pre-Series A funding round, led by PeerCapital, with participation from other investors including Surge (Peak XV's accelerator program), All In Capital LLP, Sattva Family Office, Asian Paints family office, Satyadharma Investments, and Castle Investment.
The funding, amounting to approximately ₹17.98 crore, reflects strong investor confidence in Vaaree's potential to disrupt India's home decor market. The round represents an extended pre-Series A, with previous seed funding of $4 million raised in November 2023.
Vaaree operates a curated online marketplace for home and soft furnishings, sourcing directly from export-grade factories. The platform showcases nearly 80,000 products across 150 categories, catering to various design preferences, allowing users to find a wide range of styles in one trusted location. The startup targets mid- to premium-priced décor, focusing on design, quality, and affordability for modern Indian consumers.
One of the key aspects that set Vaaree apart is its factory-to-home model, which keeps return rates below 5%. This model ensures that consumers receive authentic, high-quality products, connecting them with locally made products.
Ankur Pahwa, partner at PeerCapital, backed Vaaree from the very first cheque, expressing his confidence in the startup's potential to revolutionize the home decor industry in India. "Vaaree has demonstrated a unique understanding of the Indian consumer's evolving needs and a commitment to delivering quality and authenticity," he said.
The fresh funding will be used to scale various aspects of Vaaree's operations. The company plans to expand its Fulfilment & Brand Verification (FBV) network, enabling next-day delivery services. It also aims to deepen brand presence across metro and tier-2 cities in India, broadening its market reach. Furthermore, Vaaree intends to enhance product expansion and brand penetration within the Indian home and lifestyle sector.
In addition, Vaaree has developed an AI-powered styling tool called VibeCheck, designed to help customers with home décor choices by providing personalized recommendations. The startup plans to use the new capital to scale VibeCheck, enhancing the AI capabilities to improve user experience and increase customer engagement.
With these expansions and innovations, Vaaree is positioning itself as a tech-enabled, design-focused home décor startup with robust funding backing, leveraging AI through its VibeCheck app to innovate styling recommendations and working to scale operations for faster delivery and wider market access.
